Our Vision
Rejection. One of the most painful things to experience, especially when you believe in your dreams. In your ideas. To hear someone dictate that you’re not good enough, that your work isn't even worth considering because you haven’t the proper education, the tons of awards, or are unknown. Frankly, it baffles me. But, it happened. It was my first phone call – and my last. In that moment, I turned to self-publishing.
I found Leathers Publishing in a self-published poetry book I’d purchased some years ago and immediately made contact. I was accepted and, together, we began the necessary steps toward realizing my dream. I was introduced to my designer – Michele Rook. She was to work on my book cover and needed to know what I had in mind. After she’d received a detailed letter about what I was looking for and a few things I'd seen that I thoroughly enjoyed, she got to work. In no time, I received her e-mail. Attached, was my poetry book cover. To this day, I can recall every thought, every feeling, and the very moment time stopped. She’d listened to my words, understood my feelings, poured her remarkable talent into my soul, and created what I could only begin to imagine. She brought it to life. Everything was working out according to plan. And, I was HAPPY!
It’s amazing what you keep at bay when following a dream. I knew they existed... those trials and tribulations. I just had found a way to keep negative thoughts quiet, while I focused on all the positives. But, when my mother brought in the mail one Saturday morning, I knew what it was going to say before I even opened that brown envelope. There it was, in bold letters… Leathers Publishing was closing its doors, due to the economy. Everything was returned to me.
My first thought wasn’t that my book would not be published. It was that I could not disappoint all those charities I’d already made contact with about donating proceeds from my book sales to their organization. Then, like magic, Michele Rook's business card fell out of the envelope. She had written on the back that she was still interested in working with me on my book. Her private phone number sparkled like precious diamonds to my eyes. And, that helped me to keep my trials and tribulations at bay another day.
Leathers Publishing had suggested the name of another self-publishing company. However, I was afraid to take that route again. I figured I needed to create an unbreakable foundation that would, no matter what I encountered, become the heart of my determination... leaving absolutely no room for excuses! I decided to create Zillionaires Publishing, L.L.C. and called Michele.
In the months and years that followed that decision, I encountered so much opposition and so many challenges that I became physically, mentally, spiritually, and financially broken. My writing mind – destroyed. But lessons were learned. Change occurred. My "Life’s Cheerleaders" rose to the challenge, and the heart of my determination -- to help those charities -- saved me.
Four years ago, I followed my dream. Today, I am a changed woman because of it. Therefore, this often painful journey has led me to the vision of Zillionaires Publishing: To provide a supportive, nurturing environment for new writers, and the opportunity to make their voice heard. Now, I’m not saying you don’t have very hard work ahead of you. You do. Because it takes grit and determination to realize a dream. What I am saying is that, together, we can make it happen. And, hopefully, your journey will be easier than mine was.

As a writer I am often asked to review other people’s books. Often by the time one finishes the first chapter it is clear whether or not you would want to continue or even finish the book. If I don’t like the book or don’t feel it is well written, I will not write a review. Recently I was asked to read only the first chapter of Melanie Greenwood’s book Forevermore and give a review. Here are my thoughts.
If the rest of Melanie Greenwood’s book Forevermore is anything like the sample I was fortunate enough to read, it must be captivating. Cleverly written and descriptive, she left me hanging wanting to read more. Interestingly she is a woman writing in a man’s voice from a man’s perspective, of being enamored with a woman! Not easy to do, even for a man. This intriguing book is about to unfold in to a “can’t put down” mystical, whimsical, and intellectually and literarily stimulating adventure that I personally can’t wait to finish. She is a fabulous writer.

I was given the first chapter of Forevermore to read and found it captivating and heartwarming. It is a love story from a man's perspective filled with surprises. I fell in love and literally couldn't put it down. The author makes you feel like you are right there with them. It is an easy read. I highly recommend this book. It is a must read for any romance lover.

Thank you so much for the opportunity in reading your first chapter. I understand the trust involved in something so personal and precious.
It's obvious you have a flair that is quite lovely in describing scenery. It's also evident you have a love for poetry as it bleeds deeply into your work. I found your male POV convincing which is quite something considering my own views of how strong a male character's personality should be represented in a novel. I love a true hero and you seem to have captured it well, in fact, you have a grasp of it not found in many writers. In addition, your style and your voice are coming out loud and clear.
Gripping the reader with excitement in the opening scene of a novel is essential and your story begins fresh and unique.

I was lucky to meet Melanie on my way to Los Angeles. She asked me to read a bit of this (Forevermore) and I’m glad I did! Very colorful, captivating, mysterious and not “heavy” at all – which is good for someone like me who never reads. I love the elegance in her writing – somehow it speaks to me as a woman. And, I easily felt connected to the characters in the story. Can’t wait to read more – recommend it! Good luck!
